Experience Alpine Bliss: Your Guide to Les Arcs

Are you ready to embark on an unforgettable alpine adventure? Look no further than Les Arcs!

Les Arcs is a resort that takes full use of its prime location, situated on the heights of the Haute-Tarentaise valley. It encourages you to experience the stunning views of Europe’s tallest summit, the Mont Blanc. This ski resort is known for its large size and variety of atmospheres. After all, it provides access to over 50 slopes. Les Arcs has already won over many mountain enthusiasts with its easy access from the capital, suitability for families, and respect for the site’s natural surroundings.

    First, some history...

It all began with a fantasy for Robert Blanc, a modest shepherd from Hauteville-Gondon. Inspired by the Alpine meadows where he managed his herd, he envisioned a ski resort in the area as early as the late 1950s. Visitors would try their hand at the sport, which was gaining popularity among the French. After becoming a ski instructor and mountain guide, he met Robert Godino, an engineer and entrepreneur, who changed his life.

They proceeded on the ambitious and creative idea of establishing a winter sports resort on Robert Blanc’s native grounds. In 1968, they met Charlotte Perriand, the artist and designer who would bring Les Arcs to reality. In Les Arcs, she recognised a chance to revitalise winter sports by creating a contemporary and friendly ski resort. This was the start of a fantastic adventure that resulted in a spectacular mountain estate with its own distinct individuality.

Four high places, four distinct atmospheres

One of the resort’s distinguishing features is the stark contrast between its several locations. Les Arcs evolves with each level, revealing a unique approach to the notion of a ski resort that will surprise many. Visitors may thus choose the place that best meets their needs and immerses them in the environment they want to experience during their Alpine visit, regardless of the season.

    ARC 1600

The historic Arc 1600 was built in the winter of 1968 and serves as a focal point for the many alpine destinations. This place is ideal for families because of its green slope, swimming pool with a trainer pool, woodland treks, and agricultural experiences.

    ARC 1800

This is the most vibrant location in Les Arcs, with stores, activities, bars, and restaurants aplenty… Arc 1800 is the go-to resort for anyone looking to cap off their ski day with a crazy evening.

    ARC 1950

Arc 1950 is the most recent addition to Les Arcs, having sprung from the earth in 2003. It is thought to be the most prominent location in all of Les Arcs. Above all, it is an archetypal village. In an attractive environment, premium apartments and magnificent chalets coexist with stores and cafés. Les Arc 1950 is a totally suitable for pedestrians (and skiable!) hamlet, which adds to its quiet and wonderful character. Paradiski is the second largest skiing region in the world

The Paradiski ski region is located in the fabled Massif de la Vanoise and Tarentaise valley. It includes the resorts of Les Arcs, Villaroger, La Plagne, and Peisey-Vallandry. Notably, the Vanoise Express cable car connects Les Arcs and La Plagne. Its 435 km of slopes, dominated by the Aiguille Rouge and Bellecôte glaciers, are skied every day by both beginners and specialists in winter sports. The world’s second-largest ski resort, after Les 3 Vallées, it features several amusement zones, snow parks, first tracks, and so on. The Paradiski region gives its guests a spectacular natural environment, with an amazing perspective of the magnificent snow-capped peaks of Mont Blanc.

    Focus on Arc 1950, a must-see village

Arc 1950 needs to be highlighted, if only because of its distinct individuality that sets it apart from other village resorts. To be clear, Arc 1950 is the creation of Intrawest, a Canadian firm that develops tourism infrastructure throughout North America and Canada. This Franco-Canadian combination gave rise to Arc 1950, a resort with a harmonious and elegant environment.

What’s the concept? A mountain hamlet with sparkling hues, a picture postcard backdrop, and first-rate hotel services, ideal for an unforgettable vacation. 5-star tourist houses, luxury flats, and chalets… these exclusive seasonal lodgings provide a memorable visit in the Alps. Les Arcs has a lot to offer both in the summer and winter

Les Arcs is a popular resort due to the diversity of activities available to its tourists all year!
