Luxury chalets to rent in Tignes

Luxury ski chalets to rent in Tignes, located at the heart of the Western half of the space of the Killy linked ski area, Tignes is located in the Tarantaise Valley in the French Alps. Constructed in the 1970s, Tignes is not architecturally the most attractive resort.

The resort has no charm because of the high-rises blocks and the clear lack of trees. Yet looking beyond, you’ll see a wonderful mix of contemporary lifts, infinite water, an impressive array of beginner trails, and massive scenery off the route.

Tignes is divided between Tignes-le-Lac and Val Claret, two of their main resort areas. The resort’s main hub is Tignes-le-Lac, while it is 2 km up the valley beyond the lake in Val Claret.

Two traditional satellite towns–Tignes-les-Boisses and Tignes-les-Brévières are situated down the valley from the main villages. The two are well connected to the ski area by its own lifts but they have limited shops and restaurants, which are isolated from the central hub.

Along Val d’Isère, Tignes offers 300 km of incredible track to explore on the top of the Grande Motte cable car, at a maximum altitude of 3456 m. Tignes is one of the best resorts for midway skiers who want varied terrain, with a great selection of blue and red pistes. The resort has excellent powdery grounds and snowboarders love the long, wide slopes and excellent field parks.

Tignes boasts lots of restaurants and bars, and the Bun J ride is a combination of ski jumping, bungee-jumping, and Zip wire for those who do not wish to take a ski from ice-skating, dog sledding, to ice-karts for adrenaline kickers.

    Tignes Luxurious Catered Chalets

Tignes has a number of luxury chalets with private chefs who can prepare special dishes for you throughout your stay. Tignes’ catered chalets also have a housekeeping crew and concierge service to ensure that everything runs well throughout your stay.

    Tignes Luxurious Self-Catered Chalets

While catered chalets in Tignes are always popular, self-catering apartments and chalets in Tignes are also popular. With several wonderful restaurants nearby, self-catering chalets in Tignes allow you to sample the local food while also enjoying the freedom of cooking for yourself.

    Tignes Skiing

Tignes, which is linked to Val d’Isère, is an ideal family ski resort with outstanding ski schools ready to work with you on your technique. Tignes is famous for late-season holidays and summer skiing because to its spectacular 300 km of slopes to discover and a maximum altitude of 3,456m at the summit of the Grande Motte cable car.

With four nursery slope sections and an easy number of lines on the Glacier to move to, novices have plenty of opportunity to gain confidence on the slopes. Tignes is a fantastic resort for intermediate skiers, with plenty of snow-sure blue and red routes to explore.

A number of quick lifts also provide convenient access to Val d’Isère, where there are more routes to explore.

Expert skiers will enjoy the tough and advanced pistes at the Espace Killy, which has 25 black lines and infinite off-piste terrain. A catered chalet in Tignes will be a pleasant idea after a day of exploring this fantastic terrain, fueling you up for another day of cruising runs and steep descents.
