    Val Thorens

    Luxury Chalets in Val Thorens

Val Thorens is located in the center of a huge circle surrounded by six glaciers, the Europe’s highest resort at 2300 meters. Val Thorens slopes are more suited to intermediates, although expert skiers will like the downhill lines, but it’s the off-piste that will pique their interest the most.

Many luxury chalets in Val Thorens allow you to ski straight out and into the slopes because it is a tiny hamlet with skiing right on your doorstep.

Val Thorens is a superlative destination: it is Europe’s highest-altitude location, the highest point in Les 3 Vallées ski area, host to France’s quickest lift system, and one of the world’s largest ski areas with over 600 km of hills.

Renowned for the consistency of its snow, the resort invites everyone to its snowy slopes; cutting, ski touring, border jumping, telemark skiing, tobogganing, snow mountain biking-endless possibilities including skiing.

Val Thorens is also popular with over 40 bars and 60 restaurants to choose from for its wide range of dining establishments and vibrant après-skiing.

Ski out of your luxurious chalet and straight on to the hills, come back at the end of the day directly to your house. The snowy Place de Caron is at the center of the town, host to many of the shops and restaurants and some nice hotels.

The village’s upper half is based at Place de Peclet, close to one of two shopping malls. A road runs across the hillside from here to the chalet-style Plein Sud where you will find several luxury chalets, some of which are ski-in / ski-out.

The ski area of Val Thorens provides superb skiing for novice and seasoned skiers alike between its powder snow fields and perfectly groomed hills. With 99 percent of the ski area above 2000 meters, Val Thorens offers excellent conditions and spectacular views, especially from the Cime de Caron high point.

The nearby slopes offer some of the best moderate scenery in the 3 Vallées and with a guide, there is a huge amount of very decent off-piste land to discover. The slopes at the foot of the resort are very gentle for beginners and provide comfortable nursery slopes for snow sure.

From snowmobiling and mountain biking on snow to paragliding and ice skating, thrill-seekers can experience a range of activities. For nature lovers, there are many picturesque walks and snowshoeing paths while children can enjoy tobogganing or trampoline at the Fun Park.

Val Thorens organizes sporting events, exhibits, and outstanding music concerts every season.
