Ski out of your luxurious chalet and straight on to the hills, come back at the end of the day directly to your house. The snowy Place de Caron is at the center of the town, host to many of the shops and restaurants and some nice hotels.
The village’s upper half is based at Place de Peclet, close to one of two shopping malls. A road runs across the hillside from here to the chalet-style Plein Sud where you will find several luxury chalets, some of which are ski-in / ski-out.
The ski area of Val Thorens provides superb skiing for novice and seasoned skiers alike between its powder snow fields and perfectly groomed hills. The nearby slopes offer some of the best moderate scenery in the 3 Vallées and with a guide, there is a huge amount of very decent off-piste land to discover. The slopes at the foot of the resort are very gentle for beginners and provide comfortable nursery slopes for snow sure.
