Verbier, an appealing, modern resort constructed in a classic design, is without a doubt one of Europe’s finest ski resorts, with a plethora of luxury chalets. Verbier is located in a sunny, south-facing bowl with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks; it is the largest resort of the “4 VallĂ©es” ski region, with over 400 kilometers of piste. Verbier is home to some of the most challenging yet rewarding skiing in the Alps, as well as some of the best luxury chalets.

The 4 Valleys has a huge range and diversity of difficult pistes, as well as some of Europe’s most thrilling lift-served, off-piste skiing, not to mention luxurious ski chalets.

There is no place in the world with a more diverse menu of glaciers, couloirs, and deep powder bowls for expert skiers and riders. Intermediates have a more restricted playground in the SavolĂšyres and Lac des Vaux areas. The five resorts of Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon, and La Tzoumaz are linked into a single Four Valleys pass, which offers one of the largest skiable regions in the Alps, however few skiers travel beyond the limits of the main Verbier lifts in practice.

Verbier’s main lift station is located in Medran, at the village’s apex. A six-person telecabin goes up to Les Ruinettes (2,200m), where the Funispace, a cutting-edge lift with a 30-person stand-up telecabine, begins the run to Attelas (2,723m).

On one side of Attelas, there is some pleasant cruising skiing around Lac des Vaux, as well as chair-lift access to the infamous Chassoure-Tortin line, which is usually steep, frequently highly mogulled, and spectacular in new snow.

There are numerous additional chairlifts and routes heading to Les Ruinettes, Carrefour, and back down to resort level on the opposite side of Attelas to Lac des Vaux. There is also access to the La Chaux sector, which has a few moderate pistes and serves as the starting point for Le Jumbo, a 150-person cable car that travels up to Col des Gentianes (2,950m), from whence a smaller cable car climbs up to the summit of Mont Fort (3,330m), Verbier’s highest point.

Savoleyres is Verbier’s other major ski area. A telecabin takes you up to 2,354 meters, and there are several simple pistes on the south-facing (Verbier) side, as well as runs down to the town of La Tzoumaz on the north-facing side.

Verbier welcomes snowboarders with its incredible freeride from Mont GelĂ©. Les Chaux’s 120,000-square-metre terrain park features four distinct courses, separate boardercross and freestyle zones, as well as music and a bar at the base. Mont-Fort and Les Ruinettes both feature terrain parks featuring half-pipes and obstacles, while Savoleyres has one as well.

The center core of Verbier, Place Centrale, is home to many businesses, pubs, and restaurants. The relatively new Place Blanche complex is about 500 yards from the main lift station, Medran. The luxurious apartments and chalets in Verbier provide the ideal holiday location for those searching for easy access to the lively resort center.

Some of the greater Verbier chalet rentals are located in areas such as the Swedish Quarter, Patier, Sonalon, and Savoleyres, as well as plots beside and near the nursery slopes of Le Rouge and Les Esserts, which are the only genuine ski-in/ski-out chalets in Verbier.

All of these locations are easily accessible by vehicle from the resort center in around 10 minutes, making Verbier a very simple resort to navigate. We propose renting a luxury chalet in Savoleyres for the greatest views in town.

By train, the Eurostar will take you to Geneva, where you may change to a Swiss train to Martigny or Le Chable and then take a cab the final 27 kilometers to Verbier. This is a more practical and ecologically friendly alternative to flying.

The ‘Swiss Transfer Ticket’ from Geneva Airport can be a cost-effective way to go to Verbier, especially for families with small children who benefit from free rail travel in Switzerland. There is also the extra benefit of it being a wonderfully lovely train trip; the beginning of the route runs along the edge of Lac Leman, which is just magnificent. This ticket allows you to travel from Geneva to Martigny or Le Chable at a very low price (approximately 154 CHF per person).

If you are traveling with children, you should apply for a Swiss Family card ahead of time since children aged 6 to 16 travel free when accompanied by paying adults.

We can make these arrangements for you.
