Chalet Etoile du Nord - East Wing is part of a new two adjoining chalets together with Chalet Etoile du Nord –West Wing in the centrally located enclave known as Petite Alaska - just a ten-minute walk or two-minute drive to the slopes, and a short stroll to Val d'Isère's renowned bars, restaurants, and shops. Etoile du Nord is probably one of the most exclusive and luxurious chalets in Val d'Isère, with a private, tunnelled entrance and lifts to all floors.
This huge chalet is a wonder of design and engineering, as well as an attractive, sophisticated, and welcoming place that combines contemporary and classic forms to produce an outstanding house that is both an architectural masterpiece and a family home. Etoile du Nord - East Wing has been created with exceptional attention to detail and is inside coated in smooth, attractive wood.
The owners lovingly refer to the chalet's living and dining area as the "wow room" since that is how most guests react when they first see the spectacular mountain background. There is a wide seating space on this open-plan living floor, with huge comfy sofas, a wood-burning fireplace situated beneath a gorgeous faceted chimney breast, a fabulous marble coffee table, a wall-mounted TV, and gentle illumination given by individual table and floor lights.
The unique kitchen combines fumed wood cabinets with Miele equipment and a wide central stone island, providing for both formal dining experiences and casual family dinners. A drinks fridge, sink, and hot water tap are located in a smaller bar area adjacent to the dining room, allowing guests to have hot and cold beverages whenever they like during the day - should you not always want butler service.
At Etoile du Nord- East Wing, great standards and superb service are commonplace, yet homely details have been welcomed at every step, contributing to the perfect chalet experience.
The fantastic design continues in the spacious bedrooms, where the ceilings are attractively framed with modern panelling and fabulous wallpapers provide both tenderness and refinement. All bedrooms have en-suite marble bathrooms, some with large walk-in showers and others with lovely tubs for soaking after a long day on the slopes while listening to your favourite podcast (Sonos is built-in throughout the chalet). Three of the six bedrooms include 'Zip'n'Lock' beds that can be transformed from huge doubles to singles as needed. Additionally, there is a spacious dormitory room with quad bunk beds.
The 6m x 2.7m indoor/outdoor swimming pool, the focal point of the outstanding, light-filled spa area, is one of the most impressive features of Etoile Du Nord - East Wing. The pool is protected from the elements by a retractable glass wall that may be lowered or raised as needed and as the weather permits. Swim outside in the snow, or keep warm and peep through the magnificent Perspex window that immediately overlooks the movie theatre. The pool's depth may be adjusted to a maximum of 3m. There is also a spacious steam room, a shower, a relaxation zone, a massage room, and a Peloton cycle in the spa. The spa also has direct access to an outdoor patio with a hot tub.
The chalet continues on the ground level with a clean, trendy fully-stocked bar and a huge lounge area ideal for movie evenings. There's a giant wall-mounted TV and a wide perspex window with a view of the cleverly-lit swimming pool. Take a window seat and watch your fellow visitors swim around near you! The huge bunk room is positioned off the movie room and can be opened up to create a larger games/area children's when needed.
At the heart of the chalet is a spectacular bronzed steel staircase that is truly a work of art, allowing light to stream throughout the home from the top levels. This is an amazing feature that serves as the perfect focal point for this extraordinary chalet.
This chalet has a huge garage shared with the neighbouring chalet, three dedicated parking places, a private ski and boot room, a private laundry room, and an elevator that links all levels on the basement level. On this floor, there is also a professional kitchen. If you are staying catered, your chef may prepare meals here or in the private in-chalet kitchen on the living level. The professional kitchen is not available to guests.
