Chalet Montana's rough excellent looks suit the snowcovered environs of mountain and pine trees above Courchevel 1850, which are constructed from recovered antique lumber and natural stone. The timbered balconies and broad eaves give it a deliberate Alpine look. Hand-painted paintings with mountain sceneries enhance the ambience inside.
Montana has been designed with great thought and care, and the furnishings and fittings are of the finest quality. The split-level living and dining spaces have a large open fire and comfortable sofas for relaxing. A lovely south-facing terrace with sun loungers runs off the living area and provides stunning views.
Montana can sleep up to 12 people, and all of the bedrooms are luxuriously outfitted, with en-suite bathrooms, slippers and bathrobes, and Aromatherapy Associates items. The master bedroom features its own fireplace, plasma TV and walk-in closet, as well as a bath with amazing mountain views.
A tiny wellness suite, replete with relaxation space, hammam/steam room, monsoon shower, and sunken Jacuzzi - with plasma TV to view while you soak - is one of Montana's most fascinating amenities. If you still have energy after a day on the slopes, the games area contains a pool table and a Wii. A calmer alternative to unwind in the evening may be in the chalet's superb home theatre space, which features a flat-screen TV with Sky.
