SUMMER ACTIVITIES
BIKING in Les Gets
If you enjoy mountain biking, there is no better place to bike than Les Gets in the summer. Les Gets Bikepark is a world-renowned mountain biking destination and playground for all disciplines such as downhill mountain biking (DHI), cross-country mountain biking (XCO), freestyle, freeride, and electric mountain riding. There are 128 km of defined routes and several fun zones to explore, making it suitable for all skill levels.
GOLF in Megève
It’s no surprise that golfers come to Megève in the summer, with an 18-hole golf course at the foot of the Alps, 21 practise driving ranges, a putting green, and a training bunker. The course, which was built in 1923 and renovated in 1964, is regarded as one of the most prominent mountain golf courses, with several difficult features.
Personalized teaching programmes and coaching from reputable and qualified specialists are available during your summer vacation in Megève. Whether you’re a first-time golfer or a seasoned pro, the Mont d’Arbois golf course has something for everyone.
SKIING in Zermatt
While there are many summer activities in Zermatt, skiing on Europe’s highest summer ski area should be at the top of everyone’s list. Ride the gondola from Zermatt to the Klein Matterhorn, which stands at 3,883 metres, and practise your turns on the 21 kilometres of pistes. Early am is the optimum time to experience Zermatt summer skiing before the conditions degrade due to the strong morning light.
Freestyle aficionados may get their kicks at the Zermatt Snowpark, while those who like to take it easy can watch the specialists train on the glacier in preparation for the following winter season.
HIKING in Chamonix
Go no farther than Chamonix in the summer for magnificent views. From the Aiguille du Midi, get a close-up view of Mont-Blanc’s cable car connects the centre of Chamonix to the peak of Aiguille du Midi (3842m). From here, you may enjoy 360° panoramic views from several observation platforms, dine at Le 3842 (Europe’s highest restaurant), or “Walk into the Void” (a 2.5m glass box that juts out over a precipice). Following that, go across to the famed “Mer de Glace” and take the tiny red Montenvers train back down to the resort.
