Son Balagueret is located in Son Bunyola, a private, rural 700-acre estate on Mallorca's northwestern coast. The estate's focal point is a massive, currently unused finca that dates back to the mid-1700s and is surrounded by traditional terraces of vines, citrus fruit, almond, and olive trees.
Son Balagueret is the newest addition to the Son Bunyola Estate, and a fourth bedroom has been added for 2018, bringing the total sleeping capacity to eight adults.
This beautiful property, spread over three floors and with an original turret dating back to the 13th century, features traditional shutters, Mediterranean style roof tiles, stone flagged floors, and wood beams. The turret's exposed thick stone walls, combined with the genuine farmhouse furnishings, create an inviting and rustic atmosphere, while the colorful contemporary art exhibited on the white-washed walls provides a lively quirkiness.
The lounge is divided into two sections: a cosy sitting area with an open fireplace and a TV room with a large comfy couch and a selection of armchairs. There is an informal dining room off the sitting room, as well as a well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and french doors leading to a charming terrace with seats. All rooms open onto a secluded central courtyard accented with Mediterranean herb-filled terracotta pots – a perfect spot to find a quiet corner and relax with a book.
The bedrooms, like the rest of the property, blend rustic charm with modern comfort and are all individually and beautifully decorated. A curved staircase leads from a shared shower room on the lower floor to a first-floor TV snug with a daybed and up to the beautifully light and romantic top-floor turret room with private wash-basin and WC and views across the courtyard. The snug may be used as an extra bedroom.
The spacious master suite with king-size bed, sitting area with writing desk, and private en-suite bathroom with bath-tub and separate shower is located on the main living floor and has mountain views.
The twin/double room with sitting area, small desk, and en-suite shower room is separated from the main structure of the property and accessed through the central courtyard. The fourth and most recent bedroom, located on the ground floor near the pool, has an en-suite bathroom and can be configured as a double or twin room. We're all waiting for pictures for this room.
Through the Mediterranean gardens, stone steps lead down to the heated pool, stone flagged sun terrace, and outdoor bar area with comfortable seating. A covered alfresco dining terrace and separate outdoor lounge area provide views of the rest of the estate and Mallorca's dramatic northwestern coastline.
Son Balagueret is equipped with air conditioning and underfloor heating throughout, as well as WiFi internet access and Sky TV.
Parking is available for two vehicles beneath the pagoda area, with extra parking available behind the property. A shared tennis court is available for use, and tennis coaching can be organized at an extra cost.
