Holidays in St. Barth may present a conundrum. Will you want to be at the centre of the action, even though it means losing out on the relaxation of the isolation? Or do you want to hole up remotely anywhere, knowing full well that FOMO could kick in as soon as you remember that things are just too far away?
You don't have to decide at the newly restored Villa Mamiami. Luxury rentals are concealed in the greenery of Vitet with an unobstructed view of the ocean, Turtle Island, Anguilla, and St. Martin. It's an idyll of spaciousness and tranquillity, a great refuge for a peaceful and rejuvenating holiday away from the busy island atmosphere—or one with shopping and beach time thrown in, as both are in the immediate vicinity.
Villa Mamiami has a new, elegant approach to life in the Caribbean. The tropical forest outside promotes a barefoot luxurious feel, but the interiors are elegant and harmonious with a light pastel colour scheme that blends with the surroundings. Every furniture was supplied by small suppliers, with a good eye to detail. This marriage of beauty and comfort—plus ample natural light and large sea views in all the rooms—creates a soothing atmosphere.
The main area is closely related to the vegetation outside, helping to cool the natural breezes that waft their way through the floor-to-ceiling openings. This pavilion houses a living room, a kitchen (with a smart baby blue Lacanche range), a dining area and an air-conditioned TV room. There's a little toilet in the kitchen. This place fits into the sunny terrace with its infinity pool and sun loungers. It's the perfect location to see a sunset or a barbecue meal as the night goes by.
Each of the three bedrooms has its own bungalow, allowing them the kind of privacy that would fit for groups of friends or families of adult children. Six people fit easily, although there is a chance to make space for more. Every bungalow has a wide sleeping area, ample dressing area and a private bathroom.
