Luxury chalets in Zermatt
Luxury Chalets in Zermatt
Zermatt is quickly becoming one of the most well-known world-class resorts in the Alps. As a winter destination with an exceptional snow record, fantastic skiing, gorgeous luxury ski chalets, and an equally impressive nightlife scene… A ski vacation in Zermatt provides pretty much everything you could want!
With three lift stations providing access to various areas of the mountain, location is an essential consideration when booking your Zermatt chalet rental. See below our rental collection of the luxury chalets in Zermatt.
Zermatt is a car-free resort, offering it a genuinely unique Swiss ski resort experience. The Zermatt ski region is easily accessible thanks to free electric buses that connect all of the key lift stations on the valley bottom.
There are also a lot of milk float-style electric taxis available for hiring. Visitors arrive in the resort by the renowned red Zermatt train, which departs from the village of Täsch; it’s a truly magnificent experience. From here, you will be taken aback by a winter wonderland, complete with horse-drawn sleighs in the streets of Zermatt village and the surrounding mountain peaks, including the famed Matterhorn.
The Matterhorn Ski Paradise, which you can access with your Zermatt ski pass, is a large ski area that stretches from Rothorn (3103m) and Gornergrat (3089m) to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (Klein Matterhorn, 3883m) and Schwarzsee Paradise (2583m).
The Zermatt lift pass also allows access to the Italian ski resort of Breuil-Cervinia.
Zermatt skiing is great for a variety of reasons. Zermatt boasts Europe’s highest ski resort lift entry point. It is a snow-sure ski resort, and the ski region comprises ski resorts in Switzerland and Italy. Zermatt is a great destination for intermediate skiers, with plenty of decent red run skiing in the Rothorn region, among other places. There are several obstacles for extreme and expert skiers. The National, one of the longest black routes in the Alps, runs almost to resort level from the Blauherd and is a thrilling challenge for anybody. In Zermatt/Cervinia, there is also the No. 59 slope, which boasts a vertical drop of 250 meters over a distance of little over 750 meters. It has a gradient of 65% at its sharpest point. But don’t worry, there are well-groomed pistes in Zermatt that will fit your level.
Zermatt is of course very famous for the winter skiing, but skiing is possible 365 days a year, thanks to the glacier. The summer season is therefore very attractive for the family summer vacation. Check our guide to summer holiday in Zermatt.

Traveling by train is an excellent choice because Zermatt is a car-free resort, and you can now board the new Eurostar Swiss ski train in the UK at St Pancras International or Ebsfleet International and be whisked to the Swiss Alps at 186mph, with a smooth change at Lille en route. The Eurostar will take you to Geneva, where you may change to a Swiss train to Zermatt.
This is a practical and ecologically friendly alternative to flying, with some spectacular scenery along the route – a wonderful and peaceful kind of transportation.
Using the ‘Swiss Transfer Ticket’ from Geneva airport (or Zurich Airport if you’ve flown here), this is a very cost effective way to travel to Zermatt, with the extra advantage of being a wonderfully lovely train trip. To begin, the path follows the edge of the lakes, which is just breathtaking. This ticket allows you to travel from Geneva/Zurich to Zermatt at a very affordable price (from 154CHF per person).
If you are traveling with children, you should apply for a Swiss Family card ahead of time since children aged 6 to 16 travel free when accompanied by paying adults.
We can make these arrangements for you.
