St Moritz has a certain charm and is regarded as the cradle of winter tourism and mountain sports. From Michelin-starred restaurants to expensive couture, St. Moritz is generally associated with individuals who appreciate the better things in life. However, it is also recognised for its somewhat unusual winter activities, such as White Turf (horse racing on a frozen lake), Cricket on Ice, the Cresta Run, and the Snow Polo World Cup. In St Moritz, you’re just as likely to see fur-clad shoppers as sports fans, which adds to the town’s unique character.

St Moritz, located in the Engadine Valley at 1,856 meters, has a unique combination of snow and sun dependability. The resort features 87 pistes across four big ski sectors as well as many smaller sectors, making it ideal for both beginners and expert skiers. Corviglia is our favourite ski destination, with lengthy cruising lines and a few demanding blacks. However, because of its easy access from the towns, it tends to attract people on weekends, so we recommend driving over to Corvatsch, which often has some of the greatest snow conditions in the area.

St Moritz truly shines away from the slopes. The resort has seven Michelin stars, making its gastronomic scene unparalleled. Ice climbing and snowkiting, as well as ice skating and bobsleighing, are among the many exciting outdoor sports to try. Some may argue that shopping is almost a sport; the resort is home to designer fashion brands such as Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana, sports shops such as Kjus Store and Moncler, watch and jewellery brands such as Dior, Cartier, and Omega, as well as artisan food and wine shops and interior design shops.

There are various museums and galleries to visit, including Hauser & Wirth, Switzerland’s foremost modern art gallery.
