Luxury ski chalets to rent in Courchevel Le Praz
Courchevel Le Praz is the epitome of a traditional mountain village, located on a plateau at the bottom of wooded slopes. Le Praz is by far the lowest of the four villages that makes up the famous resort of Courchevel, with twisting cobbled streets and typical chalet-style buildings. Although the village does not have the range of shops and eateries found in Courchevel 1850, there are still plenty of good restaurants and cafés to choose from.
The best news is that Courchevel Le Praz has a brand new 10-seater high-speed gondola from winter 2019/20, which whisks you in six minutes flat to Courchevel 1850. It also operating outside the normal ski lift hours, making it easier to get to the attractions up the mountain.
Apart from lifts up to Courchevel 1850, the ski lift takes you up to the top of the bubble La Tania and allows you quick access to Méribel via the Col de la Loze. From here you can just explore the whole Three Valleys ski area. Skiers can also take advantage of tree-lined runs at the end of the day back to the village. The famous ski jumps built for the 1992 winter Olympics in Albertville and international competitions have yet to be held here have been a highlight of Courchevel Le Praz.
Although it is smaller than the other villages of Courchevel, the luxurious chalets of Courchevel Le Praz are increasing and will only go on with the new cable car going to Courchevel 1850. The village has some great restaurants, including Le Bistrot du Praz and Azimut, despite its size. Upon skiing there are several restaurants, including Cave des Lys, an outdoor wine bar with a wide selection of wines.
